To register, click the button below. Please note registration must be completed in English. You must register before you can submit an entry.
CDN Student Awards China 2022 is open to students who are citizens of, and enrolled in a college or university-level design programme (either undergraduate or graduate) in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan.
Along with transportation and product design, entries from students studying fashion, textile and other design courses, as well as those studying design engineering and architecture, are encouraged.
Individuals not enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree course at a college or university are not eligible. All projects must have been designed/completed during the 2021-2022 academic year.
* Entrants may register only once. Entrants registered as a group must not then register again as an individual, or as a member of another group.
Incomplete entries or those which do not comply with the instructions on this website may be disqualified.
In order to allow international judges to assess the entries, all labeling of images and diagrams, and all statements in support of the entry, MUST BE in English.
By entering you are certifying that the work you submit is wholly your own, or in the case of a team entry, wholly from that team. Plagiarism from a third party, or receiving the support or coaching or guidance of a third party, is strictly forbidden and will result in disqualification. In the case where the judges have included a disqualified entry on the Shortlist, as a Finalist or made an Award, these will be canceled and withdrawn. The Organisers reserve the right to publicise such cancellation and withdrawal on Car Design News and other media.
Students will upload their entries via a web link which will be provided on the confirmation email that will be sent on registration.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, completed projects will only be accepted by this method. Registration closes at 23:30 on Friday 29 of April 2022.
Students should not sign their work or identify themselves, or their school or college, anywhere within their entry. Such identification may lead to disqualification. The registration process will automatically generate an ID number that will be used in all communication and which will be attached to all work submitted. This unique ID number is issued to ensure impartiality during the judging process.
Entries must meet one of the briefs in order to be considered, and then be submitted to enter in one or more award categories.
* All entries must contain an interior and exterior design – you risk disqualification if you do not submit both!
Remember, presentation counts – entries that are presented professionally will have a clear advantage: explanatory information should be typewritten, and sketches should be clearly identified and explained. Judging will take into account your explanation and visual presentation of the design process, as well as the design itself.
Entries including your explanatory statement should be supplied in a single file in high-resolution PDF format. When creating your PDF, please ensure they meet the following criteria:
Additional animations in support of the entry should be in QuickTime video format in a single file with the maximum size 50MB.
Each entry must be submitted as a single A3 landscape style high-resolution PDF file. Aim to present the project over approximately four pages in the single PDF file.
All entries must be accompanied by text statement, submitted within your PDF file, containing a written explanation of how the design works and/or meets the brief. This should provide a context for the design, describe the project in detail and explain the technologies involved.
The organisers may choose up to four pages of your entry for publicity and display purposes at the Awards ceremony. If you send in more, there is no guarantee that the extra pages will be displayed.
Finally, though you may also submit an animation in support of your entry, this is not a requirement for entry into the competition. View entry examples.
