NIO has drafted in experienced Andreas Nilsson to oversee global programmes

With over 20 years’ experience in the automotive industry, Andreas Nilsson has joined the talented international NIO design team in Shanghai. Having worked at Volvo, Ford and Lincoln, Nilsson brings vast understanding of creating and overseeing numerous projects across all aspects of design. Most recently, he was at Lynk & Co, where he was instrumental in the establishment of the new brand.

From 1 July, as part of an expanding global design function, Nilsson will report to Kris Tomasson, vice president of NIO Design. Drawing on his expertise in nurturing and leading diverse teams, Nilsson will head up an international design team in Anting, Shanghai and will oversee global programmes fuelling the expansion of NIO, an opportunity he is relishing.

“I am thrilled to join NIO at an exciting time when it is growing and taking the company to the next level. I will apply my knowledge and experience to support that journey,” says Nilsson.
