Ultrasuede®
Toray started commercial production of its non-woven material Ultrasuede® with a suede texture, which uses recycled resources derived from plants as part of its raw materials, for the first time in the world in 2015.
Toray helps to realize a carbonneutral society by employing a chemical recycling system as well as by sourcing its raw materials from plant-based polymers. This provides the advantage of stable supply and quality and reliable traceability. We consider these sustainable materials to be better for the Earth and its people as we aim to build a sustainable society through responsible manufacturing.
- The advantages of biomaterials:
- Contribute to a non-oil-dependent society
- Secure supply and stable quality
- Reliable as raw materials (inedible, non-GMO, traceable
