Volkswagen recently unveiled its newest addition to the crowded SUV market, the Taos. It draws on design language established in its bigger brother, the Tiguan, and the Atlas Cross Sport.
In this latest video, Marco Pavone, head of exterior design for the Volkswagen brand, provides his thoughts on the exterior of the new Taos. He describes the model as having ”really good proportions, short overhangs on the front and rear, long wheelbase, fast A-post and pretty much upright C-post, giving the car really nice portability and functionality.”
On first sight, Car Design News describes the Taos as thoughtful, assured, but certainly not radical.
At the recent Car Design Dialogues global event, Marco Pavone’s brother, JC Pavone, presented the new Volkswagen Nivus. JC is the head of design at Volkswagen South America, and leads a small design team of 50 people based in Brazil.
