Mayhem in Munich? Well, perhaps that is overstating it, but for a show with mobility in the title, 2021 IAA Mobility proved tricky to negotiate with exhibits and launches spread throughout the city. That is according to CDN’s North America correspondent Laura Burstein who was at the show. Of course, it makes total sense – who wants to experience cutting edge transport projects within the confines of a trade hall. We assess how well the show was put together.
We also explore significant car launches such as the Porsche Mission R, which points the way to an all-electric future for the German marque and the BMW I Vision Circular made from recycled materials. Hydrogen-power was also a prevalent theme but despite sustainability being high on the agenda, it seems petrol-power is a long way from dead.
Laura also test drives the Polestar 2 (more on that to come on CDN) and finds that the Ford Bronco is brilliantly executed if you are the outdoors type, less so if you are a city slicker.
