In search of sportier feel Jaguar has introduced numerous changes to its XF, tweaking the exterior and overhauling the inside.
Jaguar has unveiled its new XF, and it comes with more than just a minor facelift. Several changes have been made to both the exterior and interior.
The sketches clearly show the company’s intent. With a low stance and angular body work, the design team at Jaguar were keen to push the sporty feel of the XF.
The grille is wider, stretching out towards the front lamps, and features a new mesh design inspired by the company’s heritage logo. The front bumper includes larger pentagon-shaped air intakes that also sit lower on the body work. New LED quad headlights include what Jaguar describes as ‘Double J’ daytime running lights provide a unique and modern lighting signature.
At the rear, the bumper has been widened, making the new XF look far more sporty than its predecessor. Jaguar has opted to buck the trend of incorporating an LED strip to connect the rear lamps, and has instead kept the same chrome line that was on the previous model.
The XF has an all-new interior, at the centre of which is a 11.4-inch curved touchscreen to control a new infotainment system. It is thin and sits delicately astride the dash. The rotary controller on the centre console that has featured in many Jags has been made much smaller and is put to one side, with a shifter taking its place in the centre.
Air vents span the entire width of the passenger side. There is also a focus on quality materials, with open-pore woods and aluminium used on almost all surfaces that are in reaching distance. The touchscreen even gets a magnesium alloy casing.
