Sharp lines and geometric patterns characterise Hyundai’s new Tucson. SangYup Lee, head of Hyundai’s design team, gives us the lowdown

The SUV segment is oversaturated and, in terms of design, has remained stale for years. Carmakers have stuck to a tried and tested formula, which has resulted in a lack of expression, emotion and evolution. 

Hyundai is now looking to bring some much-needed excitement to the segment. Its new Tucson has a distinctive appearance, characterised by sharp lines in the bodywork and geometric patterns
