We weren’t in Beijing in person, instead we brought everyone together virtually to award and celebrate our 2020 Car Design Awards China students
Last week, a stellar line-up of Judges joined a virtual awards ceremony, organised by Car Design News, to announce and congratulate the Chinese students who have won the 2020 Car Design Awards China.
Some 330 students entered, from 113 schools across China and the Judges, all of whom had set the briefs and been involved in the live judging throughout the competition, logged into the call to congratulate the winning students.
The prestigious Student Designer of the Year awards, sponsored by Magna, was given to Zhifan Chen from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology by Larry Erickson, Global Industrial Design Director for our premier sponsor Magna Exterior.
His design created a small, highly mobile electric ambulance, which could move swiftly through traffic, and deploy a stretcher area from the shuttle motor and can be used with or without an accompanying ambulance.
The Judges praised this work for its great innovations for a great cause, the problem-solving aspects of it really made it stand out.
